Doing things properly

Responsible Farming

Responsible farming is not a single practice but a way of running a farm: thinking about the animals, the people, the land and the law at the same time.

    Welfare first

Space, shelter, feed, water, calm handling and veterinary care are the baseline.

  2. 02

    Compliance

Farms must meet applicable national and EU requirements on animal health, identification, registration, food safety and the environment. Official authorities are the reference for these obligations.

  3. 03

    Traceability

Clear records of animals, movements, treatments and feed make farms safer and more trustworthy.

  4. 04

    Good neighbourliness

Managing noise, odour, manure and secure fencing helps farms coexist with their communities.

  5. 05

    Safety of people

Adult ostriches are powerful. Safe handling practices and suitable facilities protect farm workers and visitors.
